Action Tour Guide makes self-guided driving tours for parks and cities across the United States, and their Scenic Aruba set is the only serious audio coverage of the north half of the island. The three tours take in Noord with the California Lighthouse, the Alto Vista chapel and Malmok, then Santa Cruz with the Casibari and Ayo rock formations, the Bushiribana gold mill ruins and the Natural Bridge, plus a walking tour of Oranjestad. The price is $16.99 per car per tour, or $29.99 for all three. On Viator the bundle lists at $39.99.
Reviews are consistent. People like the content and the storytelling. The complaints are about the mechanics: GPS triggers that fire late or not at all, and a setup that trips some users up before they leave the hotel. Download everything on Wi-Fi, test it in the parking lot, and it works well. If you are driving the north coast with a rental, this is the one to buy. We do not cover that part of the island and have no plans to.
South coast: The San Nicolas and Baby Beach Day
This is ours. It covers the half of Aruba that Action Tour Guide skips, the south coast from the hotel strip to the island's southeastern tip. It has three legs. - Combined murals and Baby Beach tours: $75 to $165 per person for a half or full day with transport, a guide and beach time. Easy and complete, but expensive for a family of four.
- Baby Beach bus trips: $45 to $55 per person for transport and beach time. Narration is whatever the driver offers. Fine if you only want the swim.

What to look for in any audio tour
- Offline playback. Both self-guided options work without signal once loaded. Load them on Wi-Fi before you leave.
- Per-car pricing. Both charge per car or group, not per person. That is the whole economic case against guided tours for families.
- GPS behavior. Test the first stop before you drive. If it fires, the rest will.
